Solvents inducing oxidation of hydroxylamines.

چکیده
Hydroxylamines gradually undergo oxidation to their oximes on being dissolved in organic solvent (e.g. methanol). This phenomenon was followed by (1)H-NMR and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS). The oxidation rate was estimated from the peak area observed on the mass chromatogram at the protonated molecule or fragment ion on LC-atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI)-MS. The results showed that the oxidation rate of hydroxylamines depended on the solvent type.

Copper-catalyzed aerobic oxidation of N-substituted hydroxylamines: efficient and practical access to nitroso compounds.
A general and efficient aerobic oxidation of N-substituted hydroxylamines is described. The mild reaction conditions employed provide a catalytic and sustainable alternative to stoichiometric oxidation methods to gain access to a range of nitroso compounds, such as acylnitroso, nitrosoformate, nitrosoformamide, iminonitroso, arylnitroso, and P-nitrosophosphine oxide derivatives in excellent yield.
متن کاملSupramolecular Assembly of Gold Nanoparticles on Carbon Nanotubes: Application to the Catalytic Oxidation of Hydroxylamines
A supramolecular heterogeneous catalyst was developed by assembly and stabilization of gold nanoparticles on the surface of carbon nanotubes. A layer-by-layer assembly strategy was used and the resulting nanohybrid was involved in the catalytic oxidation of hydroxylamines under mild conditions. The nanohybrid demonstrated high efficiency and selectivity on hydroxylamine substrates.
متن کاملPlant cells oxidize hydroxylamines to NO
Plants are known to produce NO via the reduction of nitrite. Oxidative NO production in plants has been considered only with respect to a nitric oxide synthase (NOS). Here it is shown that tobacco cell suspensions emitted NO when hydroxylamine (HA) or salicylhydroxamate (SHAM), a frequently used AOX inhibitor, was added. N(G)-hydroxy-L-arginine, a putative intermediate in the NOS-reaction, gave...

متن کاملNIS-mediated oxidative cyclization of N-(2-trifluoromethyl-3-alkynyl) hydroxylamines: a facile access to 4-trifluoromethyl-5-acylisoxazoles.
A novel NIS-mediated oxidative cyclization of N-(2-trifluoromethyl-3-alkynyl)hydroxylamines is developed, which provides a facile access to 4-trifluoromethyl-5-acylisoxazoles in 33-91% yields. Various types of commonly used electrophilic halogen source such as ICl, I2, NIS, NBS and NCS at different temperatures in various solvents were investigated. It was found that the NIS acts as both an oxi...
